Experienced Drill Operator

RedBull Powder Company manufactures a range of explosives products and provides comprehensive drilling and blasting services to quarries, mines and construction projects in New Zealand.

We are recruiting for an Experienced Driller to operate Top Hammer Drill Rigs. RedBull service customers quarry and construction sites throughout the North Island so there is a requirement for occasional overnight trips away.

You will be required to;

  • Efficiently and productively operate the drill rig to produce quality blastholes
  • Comply with Safe Standard Operating Procedures and instructions
  • Communicate with Drill Supervisor to understand daily work instructions
  • Care and maintain the drill rig and equipment

You will need to have;

  • 3 years (preferably) drill operation experience
  • Class 4 or 5 driver licence (would be an advantage)
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written
  • Work safely and in line with Standard Operating Procedures and instructions
  • Strong personal presentation, history of punctuality and high work attendance record
  • Be fit and healthy with the ability to complete manual handling tasks
  • Self-disciplined with enthusiasm to work, a positive attitude and a team player with the ability to work alone

A company vehicle will be provided. Experience operating a transporter with class 5 licence to move drill between sites would be an advantage but is not essential.

Our drill workshop is located in Pokeno but daily jobs are spread between customer quarry and construction sites across the North Island. Ideally the successful applicant would be based in the Waikato Region.

This position is available for an immediate start and will report to the Drill Supervisor. You must be able to work effectively alone and within teams, contributing positively to RedBull’s strong values and culture.

Plant Operator (manufacturing)

RedBull Powder Company provides comprehensive drilling and blasting services to quarries, mines and construction projects in New Zealand.

RedBull is recruiting for a full time Plant Operator to work in a small team at our manufacturing facility near Maramarua. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate would have experience in the Oil, Gas, Energy or Chemical industries. Or manufacturing experience in the food industry. Candidates must be eager and have the ability to learn new processes.

The Plant Operator is responsible for the efficient running of high-quality chemical emulsion production at our manufacturing plant for our customers. This will be delivered through compliance with safety systems, following manufacturing plant procedures and compliance with MHF requirements as directed by the Production Manager.

You will need to have;

  • Minimum 3 years plant operating experience
  • Knowledge and use of quality control systems
  • Computer skills, preferably understanding of PLC operation
  • Work safely and in line with Standard Operating Procedures and instructions
  • Chemical handling understanding (understanding on chemical processes useful)
  • Plant maintenance & equipment operating experience i.e., forklift
  • Strong teamwork & communication skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written
  • Be fit and healthy with the ability to complete manual handling tasks
  • Strong personal presentation, history of punctuality and high work attendance record
  • Self-disciplined with enthusiasm to work and learn, a positive attitude and a team player

Ideally the successful applicant would reside in the Northern Waikato, Franklin District or Southern Auckland area.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic

RedBull Powder Company manufactures a range of explosives products and provides comprehensive drilling and blasting services to quarries, mines and construction projects across New Zealand.

We are recruiting for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to help maintain our fleet of Sandvik Top Hammer Drill Rigs. This is a hands-on position which is integral to keeping the fleet running.

You will be required to;

  • Work independently in performing repairs and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and efficiently with an analytical ability to find solutions to difficult technical problems
  • Maintain an accurate record of repairs and fleet information
  • Comply with Safe Standard Operating Procedures and Customers site specific requirements
  • Other duties as required (welding, fabricating, and some transporter maintenance etc.)

You will need to have;

  • Heavy Diesel, Mobile Plant and/or Mechanical Fitting Qualification (Newly or nearly qualified mechanics welcome to apply)
  • Demonstrated work experience in a similar industry – previous hands on experience in earthmoving or mining experience and capability at Electrical, Electronic and Hydraulic trouble shooting would be highly regarded
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A team player attitude, self-motivated with excellent communication skills
  • Good time management with the ability to meet deadlines

Our drill workshop is located in Pokeno. Daily drilling jobs are spread between customer quarry and construction sites across the North Island where you may be required to provided mechanical assistance for repairs, maintenance, or servicing. A company vehicle will be provided.

Ideally the successful applicant would be based in the North Waikato area. Some Saturday work may be required.
