Shot Firer - North Island

RedBull Powder Company manufactures a range of explosives products and provides comprehensive drilling and blasting services to quarries, mines and construction projects, both in New Zealand and abroad. RedBull is recruiting a Shot Firer to co-ordinate drilling and blasting activities for existing and new customers. Roles exist within Northland, Auckland and Waikato/Bay of Plenty region.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

  • Shot design, loading and firing
  • Handling, transportation and use of explosives in compliance with company operating procedures, all applicable laws and regulations and all customer site procedures
  • Achieving customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional results
  • Assist the company and your team to achieve zero harm by actively identifying and managing all hazards to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
  • Ensure production goals are achieved by working collaboratively with the drilling, MPU, and blasting teams and customer site management

Key factors to your success include;

  • NZ Certified Handlers Certificate / Controlled Substances Licence
  • Three years Shot Firing experience in quarries
  • Ability to work unsupervised and to motivate a working team
  • Develop solid working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Clean and current Drivers Licence, ideally with a Dangerous Goods Endorsement
  • Excellent reporting and communication skills, both written and verbal

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be confident in delivering the highest quality work and service level to all customers. You must be able to work effectively alone and within small teams, contributing positively to RedBull’s strong values and culture. This position covers the Waikato and Bay of Plenty region involving some travel so flexibility is essential.

MPU Truck Driver/Plant Operator - Macraes Mine

RedBull Powder Company manufactures a range of explosives products and provides comprehensive drilling and blasting services to quarries, mines and construction projects across New Zealand.

We are recruiting a Truck Driver to operate the bulk Mobile Processing Units (MPU) at Macraes Mine, East Otago, and provide support to the plant operation. The MPU carries the raw ingredients to manufacture bulk explosives to the job site, so the position requires a professional truck driver with the ability to meet delivery targets in a proficient and safe manner.

You will need to have;

  • 4 years truck driving experience preferred
  • Class 4 Drivers Licence
  • Clean slate criminal background and no serious traffic violations within last 7 years
  • Excellent communication, physically fit and have a high standard of personal presentation
  • A current Dangerous Goods Endorsement would be beneficial

Ideally the successful candidate would reside in the Palmerston or Waikouaiti areas. This position is available for an immediate start. The position is rostered across 7 days and will involve weekend work. Start time is 6.30am. Transport is provided from Palmerston to the mine site. This role can at times be physically demanding and is mostly based outdoors.

Applicants must be over 18 years of age. You will be required to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol test. The position will also be subject to ongoing random testing.

Drill Transporter Operator/Yard Hand

RedBull Powder Company manufactures a range of explosives products and provides comprehensive drilling and blasting services to quarries, mines and construction projects, both in New Zealand and abroad.

RedBull is recruiting for a Drill Transporter Operator/Yard Hand to facilitate RedBull servicing customers quarry and construction sites throughout the North Island. This job will consist of transporting our drills from site to site and helping in the yard with general duties.  Due to the vast area being covered there is a requirement for occasional overnight trips away.

There is an opportunity to move into a Trainee Driller role for the right candidate.

You will need to have;

  • Minimum Class 4 NZ driver licence
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written
  • Work safely and in line with NZTA rules and regulations
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and instructions
  • Strong personal presentation, be fit and healthy with the ability to complete manual handling tasks
  • Self-disciplined with enthusiasm to work, a positive attitude

Our drill workshop is in Pokeno, but daily jobs are spread between customer quarry and construction sites across the North Island. Ideally the successful applicant would reside in the Northern Waikato, Franklin District or Southern Auckland area.

Expressions of Interest - Plant Operator

RedBull Powder Company manufactures a range of explosives products and provides comprehensive drilling and blasting services to quarries, mines and construction projects, both in New Zealand and abroad. 

RedBull is looking to expand its manufacturing team at our facility near Maramarua. We are seeking expressions of interest in either casual or full time work. Ideally the successful candidate would have plant operating experience in the food, chemical or energy industries.

You will need to have;

  • Minimum 2 years plant operating experience
  • Knowledge and use of quality control systems
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and instructions
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written
  • Strong personal presentation, be fit and healthy with the ability to complete manual handling tasks
  • Self-disciplined with enthusiasm to work, a positive attitude

This position would suit a candidate that resides in the Northern Waikato, Franklin District or Southern Auckland area.
