Expressions of Interest - South Island Projects

RedBull Powder Company manufactures a range of explosives products and provides comprehensive drilling and blasting services to quarries, mines and construction projects in New Zealand.

We have new projects on the horizon in the South Island covering all aspects of the Drill and Blasting industry within mining, quarry and infrastructure. Roles include bulk Manufacture and Delivery, Blast hole drilling, Shot firing and Project supervision. We are seeking expressions of interest for individuals to join us. As a key member of the team, the successful candidates will ideally have skills from the explosives / drill and blast industry particular to the skill sets outlined above.

You will need to:

  • Be proactive and willing to learn
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and instructions
  • Have excellent communication skills, including verbal and written
  • Have strong personal presentation, be physically fit and healthy, with the ability to complete manual handling tasks
  • Be self-disciplined with enthusiasm to work and a positive attitude that contributes to the success of the team and business

Ideally, this would suit someone who has:

  • Industry experience and knowledge to suit the roles outlined above
  • Prior use of related equipment to roles outlined – Sandvik or similar drilling rigs, bulk delivery and manufacture equipment and processes, electronic initiation systems
  • Supervisory experience would be an advantage for key roles

These positions would suit candidates that reside in the Christchurch and Otago / Southland regions. Work hours and rosters will vary based on the project from 7:7 12-hour shifts within mining, to 5:2 Monday Friday for infrastructure / quarry work.

Experienced Drill Operator

RedBull Powder Company manufactures a range of explosives products and provides comprehensive drilling and blasting services to quarries, mines and construction projects in New Zealand.

We are recruiting for an Experienced Driller to operate Top Hammer Drill Rigs. RedBull service customers quarry and construction sites throughout the North Island so there is a requirement for overnight trips away and flexibility.

You will be required to;

  • Efficiently and productively operate the drill rig to produce quality blastholes
  • Comply with Safe Standard Operating Procedures and instructions
  • Communicate with Drill Supervisor to understand daily work instructions
  • Care and maintain the drill rig and equipment

You will need to have;

  • 3 years (preferably) drill operation experience
  • Class 1 Full Dirver Licence
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written
  • Work safely and in line with Standard Operating Procedures and instructions
  • Strong personal presentation, history of punctuality and high work attendance record
  • Be fit and healthy with the ability to complete manual handling tasks
  • Self-disciplined with enthusiasm to work, a positive attitude and a team player with the ability to work alone

Our drill workshop is located in Pokeno but daily jobs are spread between customer quarry and construction sites across the North Island. Ideally the successful applicant would be based in the South Auckland – North Waikato Regions. A company vehicle will be provided for business travel between job sites, with the appropriate gear required to support safe and efficient drilling.

This position is available for an immediate start and will report to the Drill Manager. You must be able to work effectively alone and within teams, contributing positively to RedBull’s strong values and culture.
